The Midnight Meat Train, $1.00 for the Ride

File this under stupid or brilliant. In a summer where we sat through The Strangers and The Happening, which were both bloody awful. Lions Gate has decided to only release The Midnight Meat Train, which looks good in clips, in selected theaters across the country instead the wide release I was expecting. But, on a good note it will only cost you $1.00 to see it. Yup, they are showing it at the dollar movie theaters.

I’m not sure why they choose to do this, maybe they are afraid Joker was going to kick their ass. Which is quite possible. So, it might be a smart plan to only do a limited release. Here’s a list that’s no quite complete, because my city isn’t listed, but it is in fact showing here. So, check your local listings for more information.

What's Your Stance on Werewolves?

The trailer for the upcoming movie, The Wolf Man with Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt and Sir Anthony Hopkins found its way leaked and snatched from the internet yesterday.

I watched it, and if you miss it before its ordered removed just know, you didn’t miss anything. It looks like a snoozefeast to me, not even remotely scary or interesting, not sure why it was even made. But, that might just be me. So this brings up something for me, is there any werewolf movie that I like? Ahh, Silver Bullet, which I was all of 8 or 9 when it came out. So, if I watch it now, it probably sucks as well. Underworld was only mildly entertaining because Scott Speedman is hot.

So, I ask you guys, any good werewolf movies out there? Or are werewolves even scary?

sHHH!But, here’s the link for the trailer.

Fear Itself 8 Tonight!

Tonight’s episode is called Skin and Bones. The plot is: When a cattle herder returns to his farm after being lost in the woods for days, he just doesn’t seem the same. Soon, we realize that he is in fact possessed by a terrifying monster, forcing his family to kill their own husband and father in order to save themselves!

It was written by screenwriters, Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan. According to NBC they are a writing team who teamed up with legendary director, John Carpenter on seasons one and two of “Masters of Horror”. The two writers have worked together since high school and have been working professionally as writers since 1994. The writing duo both reside in Los Angeles.

Uh, huh, doesn’t sound promising at all. I guess we’ll see.
