Plaisir D’Amour roughly translated, Pleasure and Love or something, right? Help me out my French speaking people, mine is spotty at best. Anyway, the title definitely says a lot. The reason why this episode makes me so happy is this, we got our first STAKE!!! Everyone applaud now!! Bill offed the vampire bartender known as Longfellow for attacking Sookie. From the rumblings I’m hearing, we have our first major departure from the books. Eric actually kills Longfellow in the book, from what I understand.

Now to us that haven’t read the books, we couldn’t tell whether this was a good or bad thing. But, I thought it was great, did you see Longfellow turned into vampire soup, yum. I’m kidding, but it was an interesting take on a vamp kill for sure. But, one thing they are keeping with the books is Pam, she is like bad ass leather clad at Fangtasia and soccer mom chic away from the bar. Love it. We find out from Eric that protecting Sookie is not an edict. Ok, I’ll bite what the hell is an edict? Is that like a vamp amendment? And most importantly, Bill admits he loves Sookie. Kind of. Ain’t love grand?

On the stupid hot Jason front, he and Amy decide to kidnap, Eddie the vamp, and store him in his basement. Jason and Amy decide to bleed Eddie and drink his blood in front of him. Is it me or would that be sort of like eating a steak in a pasture? And its Jason, so we of course get some sex. It started out kind of hot and ended with him and Amy swimming through fields of flowers. Literally. We find Tara still talking to the voodoo priestess of the rundown bus, where she tells Tara it will cost her $799.95 to cure her demons. Unfortunately, for Tina the Cat, (Sookie’s kitty) someone cut her head off and hung her from the ceiling fan, so we know our killer is still pissed at Sookie.

Can I just say Amy is already on my nerves? Clean body, cleaner soul, she spouts while she has poor Eddie the vamp tied to a chair bleeding to death in Stupid hot’s basement. Amy and Jason also confessed their love for each other, after what like three days. Whatever, dude. Sam decides he wants to have a real relationship with Tara. We saw that one coming a few episodes back, but it was nice to watch it play out. Sam offers the bar to Arlene and Renee for their engagement party, that I hope we get to see, because nothing ever goes well at Marlotte’s. So it could be great fun. Also, feeling generous he gives, Tara the $799.95 for the exorcism. Hell, that’s love. Seriously to part with that kind of money in this economy.

Anyone else gets excited to see, Bill playing golf on the Wii. Because that also made me happy. But, poor Bill must answer for his crime of killing Longfellow, so he asks Sam to watch over Sookie in his absence. I also loved the fact that Eddie the vamp told Jason he looked like what a gay man was supposed to. I know some of you don’t like the visual difference between book Eric and tv Eric, but I thought he was funny. Bill and Sookie had their movie magic kiss moment, and sorry I kind of groaned a little at it. Cheesy to me, but, I’m bitter like that. “If I had any feelings, I would have the chills right now,” says Pam. Eric retorts, “Not me.” Eric you are my hot hero!

We end the episode with Jason showing some humanity to his kidnapped vamp, Eddie, by brining him Tru Blood to drink. And, on the most important note, Sam is the dog!! Of course we figured this out in like what episode 2, but the dog, goes to sleep at the foot of Sookie’s bed and she wakes up with naked Sam sleeping in that very spot.

We only have three more episodes to go and I must say that makes me sad already. Overall, the episode rocked the house to me, because for one, we got a stake and we finally know 100 percent Sam is the dog. This show has replaced Dexter as my favorite, it was hard to do, might be the newness, but there I’ve said it. I would give it an 8/10 if I were rating it. Thoughts, groans and moans? Theories.

I will leave you guys with these questions for next week’s episode:
What will Bill’s sentence be?
Why hasn’t Sookie asked Tara to move in with her?
Is it me or did Sookie seem a little jealous about Sam kissing Tara?
What will Sam tell Sookie?
How long before Amy turns on Jason?
Is there a v-juice rehab we can stick Jason in asap?
