Luke Perry Gets His Thriller On
No, not that thriller, but thriller. Hot 90210 alum Luke Perry stars in the upcoming DVD release, Silent Venom, a new action thriller coming to DVD on June 2nd. The film also stars Tom Berenger and former Day of Our Lives chick, Krista Allen. You know she totally dated George Clooney?
The movie-tails:
Lieutenant Commander O’Neill’s (Perry) orders were simple: Pilot a retired submarine to its final port and don’t get into trouble. But when he and his crew are diverted to rescue an imperiled Army research team, trouble is exactly what they find. “Running silent” in their unarmed sub to avoid detection by a hostile fleet, they bring the researchers and their top-secret cargo aboard. But when that cargo – including two genetically enhanced leviathans – escapes captivity, the crew find themselves battling deadly enemies above the surface and below foot in this fast-paced film filled with biting action and slithering suspense!
You know I shared a flight from Miami to Atlanta with Mr. Perry a few years ago. He is beautiful in person, and that has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but I’m sharing so there.

Antichrist — Too Deep for Me, but Whatever
I hate directors who take themselves way too seriously and think their art is going to save mankind. And apparently that’s what Lars von Trier is doing for us, saving us from seeing good shit. I have no problems with shock or sex, but I think it needs to have a purpose and from what I hear about this one, this has no purpose. Think The Brown Bunny.
Literally this is what the director dude said about this film.
“I never have a choice,” von Trier said Monday. “It’s the hand of God, I’m afraid. “And,” he added, “I am the best film director in the world.”
According to Fandago, some audience members recoiled at the film’s relentless tension and almost unbearably explicit scenes of violence, including genital mutilation.
“I thought I had my head down a lavatory, frankly,” said Baz Bamigboye of Britain’s Daily Mail, the journalist who asked von Trier to justify his film.
“I’ve defended his movies in the past,” Bamigboye said after the news conference. “‘Dogville’ was hated. I defended his right to make that film, and I defend his right to make this film. But he still has to explain why he made it and what it represents.”
Trade magazine Variety said in a review that “most of the director’s usual fans will find this outing risible, off-putting or both.” The Hollywood Reporter was more positive, recommending the film to von Trier fans and calling it “visually gorgeous to a fault and teeming with grandiose if often fascinating ideas.”
Well one thing this has managed to do is make me reallywant to see it.

V
Ok, Morris Chestnut is freakin’ hot as the sun. Anyway, they have remade the hotness that was V. When this originally came out, I was really young, but about 5 years ago during a bout of nostalgia I rewatched the series on DVD.
They did change it up a bit, there’s no Marc Singer and this Diana character is not as badass as the original. For those of you who have no idea what V was or is, check out both clips. And yes, that is Freddy Kreuger. Enjoy!

This doesn’t Look Half Bad to Me – Witches of Eastwick Trailer
I used to really like this movie as a kid and I wasn’t that thrilled when I heard they were remaking it into a tv show, but this doesn’t seem half bad. Check it out…
