The Official Trailer for Stephen King’s ‘IT’ Has Debuted — I need a minute…

I hate clowns! I haaate clowns! Ok, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way lets dive into the absolutely creepy as hell trailer for the upcoming retelling of Stephen King’s IT. Aside from my coulrophobia this a well done, sharp, and scary looking trailer. I’m not even angry at the bit of cgi, because it looks as if they mixed it nicely with some practical makeup.

If you are a child of the 90s like me you already know the story of IT either through King’s 1986 book or the wonderfulness that was Johnathan Brandis (RIP) in the TV-movie with Tim Curry’s fucked up Pennywise. This version seems to focus more on Pennywise’s origin story shenanigans, which looks great imo.

When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

The 2017 version of the film stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise The Dancing Clown and Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough, with Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Nicholas Hamilton in supporting roles.

IT 2017 is directed by Andrés Muschietti (cool name), who helmed 2013’s Mama.

IT opens September 8, 2017. Fill your meds if you are like me about the clowns thing. Sigh.
