The ABC-TV hit comedy The Goldbergs will pay tribute to Halloween with a 100-percent true story, says executive producer Adam F. Goldberg. The episode airs on Wednesday, October 30 at 8 p.m. on ABC-TV.
“For Halloween this year, the show is bringing to life one of the craziest stories in our family,” said Goldberg. “Beverly and Murray confront the fact that their house may have a poltergeist. Everything in this episode is completely true.”
“My parents are the last people on the planet to believe in actual, real ghosts and yet something happened so crazy in our house that even they couldn’t deny it,” recalled Goldberg. “I heard this ghost story about our haunted dining room when I was a kid and needless to say it made for a lot of sleepless nights and even I experienced some unexplainable moments growing up.”
“Craziest of all, my parents ended up hiring this well-known Philly psychic Carol London, who had her own radio show, to rid our house of the angry spirit… and it worked!” remembered Goldberg. “These memories all contributed to a fun tribute to Halloween in the show.”
In Wednesday’s all-new episode, Beverly scores a bargain on four paintings. Once they make it home, she and Adam determine something supernatural is causing them to be destroyed. Much to Murray’s dismay, they call a psychic for help. Meanwhile, Barry decides to throw a huge “Rocky Horror Picture Show”-themed party against Erica’s wishes. Their confrontation leads to a visit to the dean’s office.
