Author Stephen King Posts “The Stand” Chapter 8 to Explain Difference Between COVID-19 and the Book

Last week I saw on Twitter that author Stephen King was answering a question where a fan was asking if COVID-19 is the superflu he writes about in his book The Stand. This is how that went:

So, this week King has taken it a step further by posting a Youtube link to Chapter 8 of the book to explain the difference between the book’s superflu and COVID-19.

The Stand is a post-apocalyptic fantasy/horror novel written by American author Stephen King and first published in 1978 by Doubleday. The plot centers on a pandemic of a weaponized strain of influenza that almost entirely kills the world’s population. The few survivors, united in groups, establish a new social system and engage in confrontation with each other.

Does that clear it up? Since, we all have a bit of time on our hands since we are staying home as much as possible, pick up a copy of The Stand and read it for yourself.
