Xennials, get in here! For the Generation raised on TV, seeing Robert Stack and his trench coat walk down a dark street in the rolling fog signaled the start of an episode Unsolved Mysteries.  For Nextflix’s upcoming reboot – sadly, there’s none of that. But still — check out the new trailer.

The reboot’s format will depart from the original series’ multiple mysteries showcase and will instead feature one case per episode. John Cosgrove, an original creator of the show, has stated that the reboot will be “pure documentary style” and there will be no host or narrator.

Personally, I think they will regret the not having a host. The host sets it apart from just being a weekly documentary. But do you, I guess.

The first six episodes of the new season of  Unsolved Mysteries streams on Netflix starting July 1, 2020.
