For Valentine’s Day and continuing my 28 Days of Black Horror Movies watch, I’m so excited to watch Ganja & Hess. Ganja & Hess is a 1973 experimental horror film written and directed by Bill Gunn and starring Marlene Clark and Duane Jones.

After being stabbed with an ancient, germ-infested knife, a doctor’s assistant finds himself with an insatiable desire for blood.

As a long-time admirer of Duane Jones, I’ll discuss more about that in an upcoming post, I cannot wait to watch this film. Ganja & Hess is by all accounts one of the most important films for black cinema regardless of genre.
