Rogue Lords takes you to a dark and mature world inspired by 18th century New England and the Salem witch trials. You play as the Devil. You have returned to the human world to take revenge against the Demon Hunters who subjected you to a heavy defeat 10 years ago.
Build your team from 9 infamous evil geniuses – Dracula, the Headless Horseman, Bloody Mary, The White Lady, Lilith, Hecate, Baron Samedi, and Frankenstein and his Creature are all available to serve you. Use the special talents of each Disciple, combine their powers to create devastating attacks, and defeat the members of the Sanctua Lumen, a new cult hunting down your followers.
Play as the Devil, find artefacts with legendary powers and regain your former strength to take revenge on the Demon Hunters in Rogue Lords, a roguelike in which cheating is part of the game.
If you are a frequent reader of this site then you know that during the pandemic I got back into gaming. Rogue Lords is just the type of game I love to play. As the synopsis and the trailer illustrates this is a battle and adventure game. Not only do you need to collect souls which acts as currency, you also must use your strategic skills to figure out how to defeat your opponents. There is also a lot of choosing your own fate with the different events and people that you will encounter throughout the game.
The graphics are really stunning and the interface is fairly player-friendly. I would suggest you play the tutorial level twice before you start to play the more difficult chapters (levels).
The Disciples (your characters) and Sanctua Lumen (your opponent) are dare I say it – dope. Their powers you wield are fun to see in action. So far IMO and hey it’s the one you are reading, Dracula and Bloody Mary are more exciting to play than the very cool looking Headless- Horsemen. Well that is besides the Devil. I mean come on! I cannot wait to get further in the game and unlock more Disciples. However, when you play as the Devil you get to cheat. In fact the Devil demands that you cheat. So, yes literally the Devil made you do it. 😈 I had to, I couldn’t miss out on an opportunity to use a cliché.
Developed by Cyanide and Leikir Studio and published by NACON, Rogue Lords is available today on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Rogue Lords will arrive in early 2022 on Playstation ®4, Xbox One and Nintendo SwitchTM.
