What a great horror franchise day! The PR people over at Paramount released the official first trailer and poster for the upcoming Scream VI film and I have thoughts.
Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. In Scream VI, the surviving gang from the last film and Gayle, sans Sydney, now with Kirby return to their roles in the franchise alongside newcomers Dermot Mulroney and Samara Weaving.
Scream VI stars: Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Mason Gooding, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Jenna Ortega, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, Samara Weaving with Hayden Panettiere and Courtney Cox.
This chapter is written by James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick and directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett.
I am a huge fan of this franchise, even the second one which seems to be everyone’s least favorite. The last Scream, which was the fifth installment was in my opinion the way to come back after an 11 year gap. Instead being overly meta, this one went dark and serious and killed off a beloved character. From the looks of the trailer above they seem to be staying on that path. And finally Kirby is back- hooray dolls, hooray.
Scream VI is bringing his/her/they mask to a theater near you and I also suspect on Peacock as well, so a couch near you as well on March 10, 2023.
