It’s that time of year when the FX publicity department releases the always beautiful, always macabre artwork and imagery for American Horror Story. It always gives me hope for a great season. However, the let downs keeping letting me down.
The 12th season of the American horror anthology series American Horror Story, subtitled Delicate, is based on Danielle Valentine’s book Delicate Condition.
Take a look:
In American Horror Story: Delicate, after multiple failed attempts of IVF, actress Anna Victoria Alcott wants nothing more than to start a family. As the buzz around her recent film grows, she fears that something may be targeting her – and her pursuit of motherhood.
I used to get such glee and excitement when the trailer was released, artwork, etc was released for this show. Now it’s always a solid meh. The last season that delivered on its promise of good was back in 2019, American Horror Story: 1984. It was a fun throwback slasher season. The aliens, the vampires – I mean how did y’all fuck up vampires, but they did. I might be cranky here, but it’s time to put this series out to pasture. I haven’t even bothered to reapply for press credentials for FX to cover this show that’s how much I don’t care. Oh, and it doesn’t help Ryan Murphy broke the strike and had his actors basically scabbing, but that’s another discussion. So, in fact this season should be a masterpiece, right? Now having ranted, I’ll be sure check out the first episode.
The season is set to premiere on September 20, 2023 on FX, and will be split into two parts.
