Following a sold-out, award-winning Hollywood production of Tripping on Life, legendary, Emmy-winning actress Lin Shaye is bringing her solo show to New York City.
Shaye is known for her roles in such iconic films as Insidious, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Dumb & Dumber, Kingpin, and There’s Something About Mary, Shaye aims to mesmerize audiences with her unflinching portrayal of a woman’s life forever changed by a tumultuous event in 1968.
Tripping on Life is a solo exploration of personal growth set against the backdrop of the vibrant and transformative 1960s. Known for its political outrage, artistic expression, and unconventional love, the era set the stage for a life-altering experience that shaped Lin’s journey up to the present day. Shaye shares her intimate story through her powerful performance, delving into the depths of emotion and resilience.
Shaye says: “Bringing this show to NYC is a dream come true! As an actress and writer, this new chapter allows me to step into the spotlight of my own creation. My goal is to take the audience ‘on a trip’ into the heart of the hippie world of love and hope that we all longed for then and still long for today. Over the past few years, we have all gone through a traumatic experience. I hope that by opening up and telling this story now, it will resonate with each person, reminding them of the strength that lies within us all.”
