Yeah Steamboat Mickey as of January 1^st is in the public domain, which means I suspect there will be many different forms of new “art” involving The Mouse, including a video game. So, here we go… the official trailer for the upcoming Mickey’s Mouse Trap, which is directed by Jamie Bailey from a screenplay written by Simon Phillips.

It’s Alex’s 21st Birthday, but she’s stuck at the amusement arcade on a late shift so her friends decide to surprise her, but a masked killer dressed as Mickey Mouse decides to play a game of his own with them which she must survive.

The film stars Sophie McIntosh, Nick Biskupek, James Laurin, Mireille Gagné, Damir Kovic, Callum Sywyk, Allegra Nocita, Jesse Nasmith, Mackenzie Mills, Madeline Kelman, and Ben Harris, with Phillips as the titular character.

I guess this could be fun, I had a lot of fun with last year’s Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey. Honestly, this one doesn’t look quite the same in that in the slasher version of Winnie, it was Winnie and Piglet on a revenge tip. This one is some person in a costume running around murdering — not the same. 😂

Mickey’s Mouse Trap is set to be released in March 2024.
