Freak Out Friday — Extreme Clown Horror “Circus Of The Dead”, Gets the Novel treatment

If you are a fan of extreme clown horror film, Circus of the Dead, rejoice because it’s being novelized. Although, I cannot stomach clowns, in IRL or on screen, this looks pretty cool.

In the original film: A sadistic group of clowns kidnap an unsuspecting man and his daughters, forcing him to play a deadly game in order to save his family.

The film was written by Billy “Bloody Bill” Pon and Lee Ankrum, Circus of the Dead has amassed a rabid cult following in the years since its release. The film stars Bill Oberst Jr., Parrish Randall, and Chanel Ryan. A sequel was recently announced and is currently in pre-production. The novelization was written by Joshua Millican and has been 100 percent approved by “Bloody Bill.”

“I’ve been a fan of Circus of the Dead for almost as long as anyone,” says Millican, “and Billy and I go way back. So it was an honor to have his blessing to embark on this ultra-violent escapade!”

“It’s been close to 10 years, and I’m still blown away by the fans’ love for the film,” says Pon. “With the novelization, Josh and I are giving them something extra, a real peek into Papa Corn’s mind! There are elements from my original screenplay with Lee that we incorporated, and a prequel that goes into Doll Boy’s origins!”

All pre-orders will also receive an exclusive set of Loteria cards featuring the film’s core cast of clowns: Papa Corn, Noodledome, Mister Blister, and Jumbo. The first run of these authentic collectables won’t be available anywhere else, and are only available to US customers through Encyclopocalypse.com.

“Josh has already done some great work for us,” says Sean Duregger, Managing Editor of Encyclopocalypse, “And I think his novelization of Circus of the Dead represents some of his best work.”

The novelization also includes a foreword by Bill Oberst Jr. (who plays Papa Corn), an afterword by Pon himself, and some alternate character posters from the film’s initial release. It will be available in standard and mass-market sizes.

Encyclopocalypse Publications is at the forefront of a resurgence in the popularity of novelizations. Their library includes classic and obscure titles ranging from Wishmaster to Blue Sunshine. The imprint also publishes original fiction and nonfiction.

Circus of the Dead will be available wherever books are sold on November 26, 2024, with pre-order links available now exclusively from Encyclopocalypse.com, available to USA Customers only. International third party pre-order links will populate at a later date.
