What a way to start a Tuesday. The trailer for Sinners has hit Harriet Tubman’s internet and it’s gorgeous and intriguing. From what we know this is a vampire film that takes place during Prohibition, so the fashions are going to be impressive and splendid, especially since Oscar winning costumer Ruth E. Carter did them. Y’all I’m excited. But I must deduct points for that horrendous Southern accent. I’ve warned you.
Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
The film stars: Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller and Delroy Lindo. It is directed by Ryan Coogler.
This looks so promising; Coogler has time and time proven himself to be shaping up to be one of the best directors and writers in the game right now. I always look forward to seeing what he and Jordan are going to show us. That accent though, my Southern ears cannot. Michael you should have called me dude, would have loved to coach you. Kudos for playing twinsies though.
Sinners hits a theater near you March 7, 2025.
