The trailer and release date is here for the upcoming game Rogue Reigns. The dark fantasy roguelike deckbuilder game about trust and sacrifice. Lead selfish antiheroes through a world where death is no more, and something still hunts them. Build synergies that bind them or rivalries that break them. Nobody dies, some are sacrificed, but everybody is condemned.
The new gameplay trailer offers a closer look at Rogue Reigns’ strategic combat, party management, character synergies and procedural worlds, giving players a deeper look at the systems that will define each run.
At the core of Rogue Reigns is a party-based approach to deckbuilding. Players control three heroes simultaneously, with each character bringing their own deck, abilities and role to the battlefield. Managing the strengths and relationships between the three heroes is central to building an effective party and adapting to the challenges of each run.
Limited rewards and evolving encounters force players to make meaningful strategic decisions throughout their journey, while character synergies and multiple party compositions create opportunities for different builds and playstyles.
“We’ve spent years studying what makes deckbuilders compelling and listening closely to the community around the genre,” said Hugo Neri, CEO of Venn Studios. “With Rogue Reigns, we wanted to build an experience where the entire party matters, every decision can change the course of a run, and players are constantly discovering new combinations and strategies. The upcoming playtest is an important opportunity for us to bring that experience to more players and continue refining the game ahead of launch.”
Built by Deckbuilder Experts, Designed for the Community
Before becoming a game studio, Venn Studios built its reputation inside the deckbuilding community. Through its YouTube channel, now with more than 108,000 subscribers, the São Paulo-based team spent years analyzing the genre, publishing videos about deckbuilders, design philosophy and the systems that make these games work.
That direct connection with players has helped shape Rogue Reigns from the ground up. The studio’s ongoing dialogue with fans and genre enthusiasts has informed multiple playtests and design iterations, helping transform the game into a systems-driven experience built with player feedback at its core.
The playtest will showcase the game’s core party-based deckbuilding systems, including strategic combat, character synergies, party composition and the choices that shape each run. Players are encouraged to experiment with different heroes, decks and strategies, then share feedback with Venn Studios as development continues toward release.
Players can wish list Rogue Reigns on Steam and join the upcoming Steam playtest running August 27–September 3. Rogue Reigns will launch on October 28, 2026 for PC, Xbox Series XS, Playstation 5, Mobile (android/Ios) and Nintendo Switch 2.
