I apologize for skipping last week, but a bitch is busy. Anyway, this third installment is continuing to help AHS:1984 break records for the most kills per episode. And, apparently, they’ve also decided to break the records of how many twists and red herrings they can throw at us.
This contains big time spoilers. If you haven’t watched the episode, I am advising you turn back now. Save yourself.**
As you know Richard Rimerez decided to give Los Angeles a break from his summer of Night Stalker terror by joining Mr Jingles in the woods. When we meet up this week, the Scooby Gang is still separated trying to find keys to the get away cars; one stalked by Ramirez, the other by Jingles.
It was the night of twists and back stories. First, we get Ray’s very dark backstory, basically he dropped out of college because he’s an asshole and truly a coward. Ray makes terrible decision after terrible decision to save his own skin and builds up so much bad karma. While Brooke, Chet, Nurse Rita and Ray are running from Richard, Ray almost becomes an early victim. But, Roid Rage Chet steps in and saves him. After they finally make it from the cabin, Ray and Chet fall into a hole. Ray leaves an impaled Chet to die.
Ray eventually meets up with Montana, Xavier and Trevor. This group has decided to look for the camp cook, Brooke and Nurse Rita. It’s cute how they are all no man left behind. Trevor gives Ray and Montana the keys to his motorcycle instructing them to go call for help. Unfortunately, for them the Night Stalker catches up to Ray and Montana. He immediately leaves her. Of course, Ray’s an asshole. Nonetheless, because this is a slasher story, Ray becomes Scooby death number one in the most deserving way. In probably the biggest twist of the night, Montana and Rimerez start making out. WTF?!?
In another unrelated twist we learn Nurse Rita isn’t Nurse Rita. The nurse Rita we know is a doctor who’s doing research on serial killers. Turns out Not Nurse Rita is the mastermind behind Jingles’ asylum breakout and it’s how he made it to the camp. Once more – WTF?!? Luckily for us batshit Margaret was no where to be found this episode. I mean I couldn’t handle another twist. Too much.
Overall, I am really enjoying this season. Once again it’s a campy, cheesefest and I am still getting my life. Plus, last night they threw in a couple of 80s songs that had me singing along happily.
Next week:
Mr. Jingles closes in on the one who got away as the counselors rally to escape Camp Redwood.
