MGM’s celebration of Killer Klowns from Outer Space’s 35th anniversary at HorrorCon LA

Damn, I don’t have corny clown puns. Well, anyway MGM and HorrorCon LA are not klowning around about this scarily good line-up.

MGM and HorrorCon LA teamed up to dedicate an entire day’s worth of festivities to the cult fan favorite film about a clan of evil aliens who look like clowns and descend on earth to capture, kill, and harvest the human inhabitants in cotton candy cocoons to use as sustenance.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space first sent chills down the spines of fans when it hit movie screens in 1988.  The film is about a clan of evil aliens who look like clowns.  They arrive on Earth and invade a small town in order to The film was written by Charles Chiodo and Stephen Chiodo, and directed by Stephen Chiodo.  It was produced by Stephen and Charles Chiodo, and their brother Edward Chiodo.  Killer Klowns from Outer Space stars Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, Royal Dano, and John Vernon.

Fans will be treated to a panel featuring the Chiodo Bros, who wrote, directed, and produced the movie, and the film’s music composer John Massari, poster signings with the Chiodo Bros, and a Killer Klowns-themed dance party hosted by Massari with punk rock band The Dickies. As part of the panel, Matt Group, Executive Producer of MGM Interactive Games, will be sharing details about the upcoming video console game, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, as well.

  • Saturday, September 30 – 3:00-4:00 pm (Los Angeles Convention Center): A panel celebrating the 35th anniversary of Killer Klowns from Outer Space and discussing the property’s resurgence as a pop culture fan favorite will take place on the Main Stage. A portion of the session will also be dedicated to the highly anticipated, upcoming video console game. Panel to feature Stephen, Charles, and Edward Chiodo, music composer John Massari, and Matt Group, Executive Producer, MGM Interactive Games.
  • Saturday, September 30 – 4:00-4:30 pm (Los Angeles Convention Center): Fans will be able to participate in Killer Klowns cosplay contests for the opportunity to win “kool” Killer Klownmerchandise.
  • Saturday, September 30 – 5:00-6:00 pm (Los Angeles Convention Center): The Chiodo Bros and John Massari will be autographing a special commemorative poster celebrating the 35thanniversary of Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
  • Saturday, September 30 – 7:30 pm (LA Convention Center 411 Theater, 1201 S Figueroa St): This is a separately ticketed event and to purchase access you can click here.  Fans are invited to join Killer Klowns from Outer Space composer John Massari, and punk rock pioneers, The Dickies, for the KKFOS Live in Concert “Darkkest Karnival” dance party.  This will be an intimate evening featuring a performance by LA based punk rockers, along with Massari performing his KKFOS DJ/Metal Synth Wave Set.  The Chiodo Bros will be in attendance as well.  There will also be a free, custom commemorative poster with ticket purchase.
