I rarely think horror films need a trigger warning, but this one warrants one. Lionsgate released the simplest, yet most disturbing trailer for The Long Walk and whew it’s a lot. Tuck in.
From the highly anticipated adaptation of master storyteller Stephen King’s first-written novel, and Francis Lawrence, the visionary director of The Hunger Games franchise films (Catching Fire, Mockingjay – Pts. 1 & 2 , and The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), comes The Long Walk, an intense, chilling, and emotional thriller that challenges audiences to confront a haunting question: how far could you go?
Set in a dystopian United States ruled by a totalitarian regime, a group of young men enter an annual walking contest in which they must walk at 3mph non-stop until only one of them is left alive.
I told y’all this is unsettling as hell! Because we are fast-tracking our way into an economic recession, we are going to see people get desperate as hell. And the idea of shit like this being an option is scary. This one is DARK for a lot of reasons, but I have no notes.
The Long Walk is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 12, 2025.
